Creases & Folds
With age, we observe how lines around the mouth, chin, eyebrows and nose become deeper and more pronounced. As Dr. Fechner readily points out that fat grafting is not meant to “chase” single wrinkles, it rather serves the replenishing of the facial building block that was lost over the years.
By restoring lost facial fullness, the facial tissues are re-expanded leading to softening of harsh lines and folds. Especially nasolabial folds (a.k.a. “parenthesis” lines) are a normal component of the young face. For a natural appearance, softening of these structures is the goal, not disappearance.
